Shaykh Al-Hadith Ghorghushti (RA) by Hazrat Maulana Mufti Adnan Kakakhail

Shaykh Al-Hadith Ghorghushti (RA), may Allah be pleased with him, from Hazrat Maulana Mufti Adnan Kakakhel, the Seal of the Muhaddith of his time, the cream of the perfect, the Abu Dharr of his era, Shaykh Al-Hadith Hazrat Maulana Naseeruddin of Ghorghushti (RA), has passed away half a century ago, yet the delightful fragrance of his scholarly and spiritual services still spreads across a vast area. Allah Almighty granted him the honor of conducting rejuvenating work in Sufism and guidance, as well as in the fields of Hadith and Tafsir. In this era, there appears to be no one comparable to him. His great favor in the regions of two provinces of Pakistan and Afghanistan, where Pashto is spoken, is that the active study and teaching of Hadith began through his blessings. This region was well-known for its studies in logic, philosophy, astronomy, and mathematical sciences, but there was a significant lack of engagement with the Noble Hadith.

Sheikh al-Hadith, may Allah be pleased with him, studied the Noble Hadith under the eminent Muhaddith Qazi Qamar al-Din Chakrali, and the Tafsir of the Imam of Monotheists, Hazrat Maulana Hussain Ali Waan Bichravi, may Allah be pleased with him. He recounts his initiation into Sufism, stating that it was his teacher and mentor, Hazrat Maulana Hussain Ali, who directed him towards this path. Referring to his pir and mentor, the pride of the Naqshbandi lineage, Siraj al-Salikin Hazrat Khwaja Siraj al-Din Musa Zai Sharif, he remarked, “My dear Naseer al-Din! Hold onto his cloak; such people do not appear in this age.” Thus, Hazrat Ghorghushti first took the pledge of allegiance from Hazrat Khwaja Siraj al-Din, and after his passing, he took the pledge from his teacher and successor, Hazrat Maulana Hussain Ali Waan Bichravi, and received permission and succession from him. After the passing of Hazrat Maulana Hussain Ali, he was unanimously regarded as the successor and inheritor of his scholarly and spiritual legacy.

The Chach region is a very ancient cradle of knowledge and skill, where scholars of the Indian subcontinent have studied. “Ghorghushti” is also a town in this area, which has gained worldwide fame due to Shaykh Al-Hadith Hazrat Maulana Naseeruddin of Ghorghushti (RA). He taught the complete course of Hadith alone in a small mosque in this town and continued to teach with remarkable steadfastness until his old age. Students traveled from far and wide to learn the Noble Hadith, and the second largest gathering for the Hadith course, after Darul Uloom Deoband, took place here. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Baluchistan, and Afghanistan greatly benefited from Ghorghushti, and all the prominent and learned scholars of that time were either graduates of Darul Uloom Deoband or Ghorghushti.
