Your name was Shaykh Al-Hadith Hazrat Maulana Naseeruddin of Ghorghushti (RA). Your father’s name was Hazrat Maulana Bahauddin (RA) and your grandfather’s name was Hazrat Maulana Saaduddin (RA). Your family was from the Kakar tribe of Afghanistan, with Kandahar as the ancestral home, but you were born in the village of Ghorghushti in the Attock district.
You received your early education from your elder brother, Hazrat Maulana Shahabuddin Sahib (RA), and later completed your formal education in Suraiya, Multan, Nothia, and Chakrala.
After completing your studies, you taught for a while in your village, and then spent some time teaching in Rangoon, present-day Myanmar. From there, you went to Makkah, where you also taught for some time before returning to your village, where you spent the rest of your life spreading knowledge.
In Pashto-speaking regions, Allah enabled you to revive the knowledge of Hadith. For this reason, you are often referred to as the “Shah Waliullah of the Pathans.” On 4th Dhul-Qi’dah 1388 AH, corresponding to January 23, 1969 CE, you passed away and were forever embraced by the mercy of your Lord. You were laid to rest in your birthplace, the village of Ghorghushti in the Attock district.
